The latest episode of The Big Bang Theory, The Separation Agitation, takes its name from one of the two major storylines.

Bernadette’s maternity leave is finally over, and she’s not the only member of the Wolowitz household who’s having a hard time with baby Halley going off to daycare. Howard and Stuart find themselves glued to the daycare’s window, unable to stop watching the baby… so they don’t. They take her to the aquarium instead. The next day, though, the trio manage to suck it up and leave the baby in the care of new people– a feat made easier by Bernadette making all the babies cry in her efforts to get Halley to look at her through the window.

Meanwhile, Brian Posehn is back as Bert! He’s got a hot girlfriend since updating his online dating profile to include the amount of money he received in his Genius Grant. His girlfriend, a former actress who now works as a personal trainer, is played by April Bowlby, and I got so happy when I saw her. She was Stacy on Drop Dead Diva, and she’s totally charming. They under-utilized her, so I hope she’ll get to come back. Since Bert has apparently bought her an 80-inch TV (on the first date), a phone and a jet ski, there’s a good chance.

Also happening: Sheldon and Amy do a “Fun With Flags” episode at each end of the show. Bert uses their program to announce having a girlfriend by misusing their call-in line.

Aside from these basics, there were some really good jokes tonight! Here are my two favorite…

Sheldon takes advantage of Howard’s absence at lunchtime (while he’s off trying to get Halley to daycare) by telling jokes only physicists would enjoy to Leonard and Raj. His first is a dud, but we all enjoyed his second.

Sheldon: Feynman, Einstein and Schrödinger walk into a bar. Feynman says, “It appears we’re inside a joke.” Einstein replies, “But only to an observer who saw us walk in simultaneously.” To which Schrödinger says, “If someone’s looking in the window, I’m leaving.”

Later, Bert comes to Leonard and Penny’s to tell the group that he’s rejecting their input that he break up with Rebecca and find a woman who cares about more than his money. When he leaves, Raj says he feels bad for Bert.

Sheldon: So he’s using his money to attract a mate. Is that any different than me using my intelligence to attract Amy? Or Leonard using his power of groveling to get Penny?

Leonard: It’s totally different! Bert’s money might run out, but I can beg until the end of time.

Penny: All that, and he’s shorter than me.

Bazinga! Right??
