Netflix Drops First Teaser for Upcoming Will Smith Movie, BRIGHT

Netflix continues to push the boundaries of the way we consume traditional media, refuting the long held idea that movies are for theaters and episodic stories are only for television.  So far they’ve killed it with their episodic stories, such as Orange is the New Black, Bloodlines, Kimmy Schmidt, Series of Unfortunate Events, House of Cards, and the Marvel Universe.  Recently they’ve turned their considerable clout to movies, attracting big names to deliver quality content across multiple genres.  Their latest offering is Bright, a David Ayer directed, Will Smith and Joel Edgerton staring movie where magic is real and humans aren’t the only...

Woody Harrelson Officially Cast in Young Han Solo Film

As reported last week, Woody Harrelson was in late talks to portray the scruffy looking nerf herder’s mentor in the upcoming Han Solo film.  Today Star Wars officially announced Harrelson is joining the cast. We all know Harrelson for such roles as The Hunger Games, True Detectives, and Zombieland.  He will join Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, and Emilia Clarke in an as yet to be identified role.  Now, filming hasn’t started yet so I don’t expect this to be the last of the casting announcements.  There are still those rumors regarding Sana Starros,...

Sterling K. Brown Joins the Cast of Marvel’s BLACK PANTHER

Marvel announced  a new addition to the upcoming Black Panther movie, Sterling K. Brown will play the role of N’Jobu.  Described only as “a figure from T’Challa aka Black Panther’s past”, N’Jobu appears to be an entirely new character created for the movie. While it’s surprising Marvel has apparently created a new character for the movie and not pulled one out of the comics, it’s not a bad thing.  Sure, there are plenty of characters to pull from but expanding on the mythos is a good thing.  There’s also the possibility he is playing an existing character and he’s...

While this may not be considered a reboot, it certainly looks like it’s trying to do just that– reboot just a little bit in order to breath new life into the franchise. The original video is there, along with our beloved and oh so flexible Samara, and the dying a certain...

Obi-Wan Kenobi Makes an Appearance in the Latest STAR WARS REBELS Trailer

Star Wars Rebels has been hitting it out of the park recently, bringing back Thrawn, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Maul, Saw Gerrera, and now Obi-Wan Kenobi.  While we saw the surviving Jedi Master through hologram in the opening episode, it was an old recording, warning Jedi to stay away from the temples.  Now, the older Kenobi is making an appearance. When Rebels first made it onto the scene it had a lot to live up to, namely Clone Wars.  It was impossible to not draw comparisons and, in the beginning, Rebels was generally found lacking.  Enjoyable, to be sure, just...
