Joker Origin Film Is in the Works with a Director Slated

Well, this is almost unexpected. According to Deadline, there is a Joker origin film in the works. And no, it’s not just a pipe dream, they even have a director for it. Todd Phillips of The Hangover and War Dogs is currently set to not only direct but co-write the film. Phillips will be joined by Scott Silver in writing and Martin freaking Scorsese will produce the origin story which will delve into “what it took” to become the criminal mastermind. The film was not announced as one of the DCEU films on the slate at Comic Con this...

Zack Snyder Shares Aquaman Set Photo from JUSTICE LEAGUE

While Zack Snyder may be unable to continue work on Justice League, he’s still proud of his DCEU. Case and point, he shared a behind the scenes photo from the set. From all the way back in October, he recently shared the picture on his Vero account.  In the photo we see that Aquaman has no one near him as he yells in agony to the sky. Hopefully it’s a victory yell rather than one in agony, though. Beside him is a rusted out boat and a beautiful landscape. According to Snyder’s comment – it’s Jason Momoa‘s last day...

Michael K Williams Gets Cut From Han Solo Film

According to Deadline, Michael K Williams‘ role has been cut out of the Han Solo film. Amid all the reshooting problems, scheduling has been one of the biggest. And that’s no different in this case. The damned reshoots!  According to Williams himself, since he’s on location in Africa, he’s unable to attend any reshoots in London. So instead of butchering his character, they’ve decided to cut him completely. I felt great about what I created with the directors that I worked with [but] it is what it is. When Ron Howard got hired to finish out the film, there were...

XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS Reboot Is Officially Cancelled

Do you remember Xena: Warrior Princess? We sure do. So did the Hollywood execs at NBC. Back in 2015, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt told THR that a reboot was in development. It appears they couldn’t get off the ground as THR is now reporting the reboot is dead. NBC President Jennifer Salke confirmed that the reboot is as dead as a door nail, as far as they’re concerned. But they don’t rule out the possibility of bringing it back at a later date. RELATED: Lucy Lawless Joins Cast for Starz ‘Ash Vs Evil Dead!’ WARRIOR PRINCESS CRY! Nothing is happening on...

Yes, I’m screaming in my chair, too. According to THR, Lucasfilm are developing a live-action Obi-Wan Kenobi movie. The Empire Looms in New Han Solo Film Set Photo

The untitled Han Solo film has been cranking out scene after scene after scene since Ron Howard‘s takeover. And thankfully, Howard has been giving us glimpses into the film. They are the smallest of glimpses, but glimpses none the less. This time, he tells us the Empire will be looming in the background of the film. In a new set photo, Howard shows us a helmet on top of a station. The helmet is recognizable as a Death Star trooper helmet. They were the Imperial Navy, as it were, who piloted the first and second Death Stars. From the...

SHAZAM Filling the Next DCEU Filming Slot

Director David F. Sandberg stormed the Hollywood scene with the horror hit, Lights Out. Since then, he’s been taking on a few projects, one of them being the untitled Shazam movie. While promoting his second film, Annabelle: Creation, he spoke with Film Riot and gave us a nugget of information regarding the superhero film. While we have no other information for the Shazam movie, apparently it’s next up to film. “There’s a script. And it’s the next DC movie to shoot.” With a 2019 release date, we would think that casting would be announced at this point, but not yet. The...

Superman Joins the Team in New JUSTICE LEAGUE Poster

Superman has been fairly absent in Justice League promotion. While the events of Batman v Superman saw him “die”, we’ve known he was going to return. Still, he’s yet to make many appearances in other merch and no appearances in the trailers, so far. This poster from Film Cells Ltd offers a bit of Supes fans have been waiting for. While the rest of the League are in ready-action poses, Superman is just hovering above them. This doesn’t appear to be a photoshop of an older picture, so we have to assume it’s legit. Frankly, I think we need...
