Colossal has been making the rounds at film festivals and finally has an official trailer! Directed and written by Nacho Vigalondo, we have a new take on the monster genre film – namely a comedy. Anne Hathaway stars in the indie film as a woman having a mental breakdown who’s related to a kaiju that’s popped up across the world!
The trailer depicts Hathaway’s Gloria going through some tough times. She’s unemployed, just went through a breakup and has moved back to her hometown since she’s run out of money. All of this would put mental stress on anyone. After waking up, she’s asked if she remembers anything from last night. Namely a kaiju appearing in South Korea terrorizing citizens. Terrorizing and making odd yet familiar hand gestures. This sets off in motion a discovery for Gloria and the monster.
Starring Anne Hathaway, Jason Sudeikis, and Dan Stevens, the film made it’s international debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. Colossal is scheduled to be released on April 7th, will you be seeing it? Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!
