On Agents of SHIELD last night, we learned that the wider world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t really trust the heroes and “freaks” that are out there. That, in fact, a lot of people believe that they and the people surrounding them, SHIELD primarily, are to blame for the multitudinous disasters that have befallen Earth — the Chitauri Invasion, the re-emergence of Hydra, Sokovia, et al et al.

So, it makes total sense that a militant faction of dissidents would rise up to confront these heroes and freaks. Enter, the Watchdogs.

Who, as it turns out, are of course, working for Gideon Malick (Powers Boothe).

And, of course, Daisy Johnson finds it insulting to the point of rage and almost proving their point while Lincoln is tested by Director Phil Coulson to see if he’s loyal to the team and ready for the field. Mack, on the other hand, discovers that his brother is actually interested in what the Watchdogs have to say, which ends up getting him into a bit of trouble.

But in the end, it was all sorted out, but now, according to this sneak peek for next week’s episode “Spacetime” it appears that our team is learning that Grant Ward’s (Brett Dalton) body returned from the planet Maveth and is working with Malick, which is obviously a very bad thing.

Oh, and also, an Inhuman showed Daisy (Chloe Bennett) the team’s future and it’s bad. Really really bad.

“Spacetime”

When Daisy gets a horrifying glimpse of the future, S.H.I.E.L.D. races to prove that fate is not fixed.

Tuesday, April 5th on ABC.
