Sofia Boutella, Dancer.

*Photo Courtesy Of Indiewire.com Sofia Boutella is a force to be reckoned with. With two big movies in the works, Star Trek: Beyond which comes out next week and the title role in Universal’s Mummy reboot, I think it’s important to acknowledge her dance background. Yes, I’m a dancer and I truly believe that dancers are the hardest working artists out there, and what this girl can do physically, on her own, is nothing short of amazing. We all came to know her, or I did, through the movie Kingsman: The Secret Service as Gazelle, and she was badass! Check the behind-the-scenes of Kingsman: Boutella, the Algerian born dancer...

“Kingsman’s” Sofia Boutella Cast in Major Role for Star Trek 3

Sofia Boutella evidently nabbed herself a lead role in the upcoming film Star Trek 3. According to Deadline, there’s not much info on what the role is, just that it is a major one. Sofia Boutella is French-Algerian and was recently seen being all kinds of badass as Gazelle in Kingsman: A Secret Service. In addition to being an actor, she is a dancer and musician. She even competed for France as rhythmic gymnast in the Olympics. Serious badass. Justin Lin will be directing the film. Simon Pegg and Doug Jung are writing. Of course, Simon Pegg will be reprising his...

Movie Review – ATOMIC BLONDE

Atomic Blonde by Paul Preston The Movie Guys In Atomic Blonde, Charlize Theron plays Lorraine Broughton, an MI6 agent working undercover during the late ‘80s who is called on to track down a list of double agents that, if exposed, could prevent the Cold War from ending. Well, this sounds slightly exciting, but another NOC list? Since 1996’s Mission: Impossible, it feels like there have been many elusive NOC list movies. And the first third of Atomic Blonde doesn’t help rouse more excitement as Lorraine learns of the death of a colleague, is sent to Berlin to meet with an embedded agent (James McAvoy)...

Movie Review – THE MUMMY

CARELESS BLUSTER The Mummy by Paul Preston The Movie Guys The Mummy solidifies that this summer is thin on great movies. Most are big, loud and stupid. The Fate of the Furious, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Baywatch, all big, all loud, all stupid. Add The Mummy to the list. The most depressing part is that when Tom Cruise was attached to this movie, I thought he might lift the whole unnecessary project, but just the opposite happened, the whole unnecessary project dragged him down. Cruise is miscast as Nick Morton, a soldier-of-fortune...

I am one hundred percent sold because it just looks like so much damn fun and the action is stellar. Related: Universal Has Released Trailer #2 For THE MUMMY The Mummy stars Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella and Russell Crowe as Dr. Jekyll and the international trailer boasts a fair amount of new footage. In particular, we see a lot more of The Mummy. Her capture and her escape have me incredibly stoked. Also, we get a little...

When I first heard about Universal reviving the Monster Movies of old and that Tom Cruise was attached to The Mummy and that Sofia Boutella would be playing the actual Mummy, I was elated. Then I saw the first trailer and was underwhelmed. Then this bad boy came out today and I am back on board! Related: THE MUMMY Trailer and Behind The Scenes Goes Full Mission: Impossible Here’s the synopsis: Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The...

THE MUMMY Trailer and Behind the Scenes Go Full MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE

Over the weekend we were treated to the first trailer for the upcoming Tom Cruise movie, The Mummy, and it went full Mission: Impossible. Let’s talk about this for a few minutes, I’m sure most people are drawing the comparison between Mission: Impossible and this new glimpse of The Mummy.  It’s hard not to.  Even the 15 second teaser left the same impression, the full trailer just reinforced it.  I, personally, can’t stand teasers for trailers because trailers are already teasers for the entire movie.  I thought it was impossible to get an idea about a movie based on 15...

Watch the First Teaser for the Upcoming Tom Cruise Movie, THE MUMMY

Universal finally gave us a brief teaser for the upcoming Universal Monster movie reboot, The Mummy.  Starring Tom Cruise, Sofie Boutella, and Russell Crowe, this movie is definitely leaving the comedic approach behind and going full Mission Impossible. To be fair, this is a 15 second teaser so we don’t get much by way of plot, the full trailer will release Sunday.  At that point we will get a clearer glimpse of everything.  Although, based on the description below, Tom Cruise is going full action hero which is what he’s done best for several years now.  No reason to think The...
