#WheresRey – Hasbro, Target, Are We Really Going to Start Star Wars This Way? – from Legion of Leia

~Jenna Busch / Legion of Leia I spent this weekend shopping for an overseas trip, but as I do in any store, I always migrate over to the toy section. Especially since the new toys for Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out. There is too much empty space on my desk (some might argue that this is absolutely not true, but you can clearly see a few inches) and I must fill it with toys. Well, this weekend I hit Target and to my, sadly, lack of surprise, they had an exclusive set of large Star Wars figures from Hasbro, and once again,...

ICON-O-CLASH 2015: Princess Leia Wins! Breakdown from LEGION OF LEIA

~Jenna Busch / Legion of Leia ICON-O-CLASH 2015 was a crazy ride this year! We started out with 64 amazing female characters and you voted for your favorites in a seeded tournament. Wonder Woman and Buffy got knocked out early, which was a shock. The Game of Thrones ladies held strong, but lost when Katee Sackhoff tweeted about voting for Starbuck and got the Battlestar Galactica fans all riled up. Ripley from Alien stayed on, almost until the end, but Starbuck and Ripley lost when Jewel Staite got Firefly fans to mobilize for Kaylee and Zoe. Ripley, who was last year’s winner lost...

CONSTANTINE RECAP AND REVIEW: QUID PRO QUO from Legion of Leia

by Melissa Molina NBC’s Constantine has given a fair share of time shining the spotlight on supporting characters Chas (Charles Halford) and Zed (Angélica Celaya). As the season continues on, viewers are able to get to know the two a little bitter, but those unfamiliar with the DC comics aren’t entirely sure as to why Chas has the power to recover from any injury inflicted on him. How does that work? In “Quid Pro Quo,” the show gives viewers a better insight as to how Chas gained the extraordinary power and how Constantine – of course – had something to do with it. The episode starts off like any other, with a bit of supernatural mischief going on for some intriguing, dark purpose. A poor little girl is the target of the latest wave of dark magic, wrapped up in this strange smoky substance that’s anything but good. Back at headquarters, Zed is finally starting to open up to Constantine (Matt Ryan) about the attack that happened to her. She goes on to tell Constantine a tiny bit about the Resurrection Crusade, headlined by her own father. Constantine can easily see the fear in her eyes over the thought of being taken away by the group, but that’s not going to happen on his watch. Before Zed and Constantine could continue their conversation about trying to keep folks away from...

ORPHAN BLACK’S TATIANA MASLANY AND MORE TESTING FOR STAR WARS STANDALONE FILM from LEGION OF LEIA

January 21, 2015 by Jenna Busch Could the universe align in such a way that we see the amazing Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black appear in a standalone Star Wars film? It’s possible! Maslany, along with Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara, her sister and House of Cards star Kate Mara as well as Oscar nominee Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) have tested for one of the films, according to THR and Variety. The ladies have been testing for the Star Wars film directed by Gareth Edwards. Though we don’t know the plot yet, speculation is that this one is about a group of bounty hunters. A heist film. In space. Universe, please grant us this loveliness! Check out more from Legion of Leia on their website! Follow Legion of Leia on twitter,...

CONSTANTINE RECAP AND REVIEW: ‘THE SAINT OF LAST RESORTS – PART 2′ from LEGION OF LEIA

The midseason break that viewers had to go through until they got another episode of Constantine felt a lot longer than it needed to be. Maybe in the end it was worth it, because the special effects in this particular episode are one of the many highlights of this series. Constantine is definitely a show that more people should start watching, and the ratings boost for the previous episode is a good indication that TV viewers are starting to wise up to seeing the awesome NBC show. The first half of the previous Constantine episode, ‘The Saint of Last Resorts,’ left our hero John (Matt Ryan) suffering from a nasty gunshot wound. To top it off, there was an incredible demon creeping it’s way even closer to the sarcastic blonde. Actually, scratch that. This is an incredibly creepy demon that’s going towards Constantine. The movements and special effects that they used to create this creature are fantastic. Boy I would never want to encounter this creature in an alley. So in a last ditch effort to save himself from any impending awful that could befall him, he inevitably uses a spell to let the demon into his body. Bad idea. Manny (Harold Perrnieau) is incredibly pissed off over this turn of events, mainly because he just lost his go-to guy that’s helping the angels fight off the impending darkness. Meanwhile Zed...

AGENT CARTER RECAP AND REVIEW, EPISODE 3 – ‘TIME AND TIDE from LEGION OF LEIA

Legion contributor Christina Janke is recapping and reviewing Agent Carter for us this season. Follow her on Twitter @IntrotoGeek! After a strong, action-packed premiere, “Time and Tide” slows things down a bit to put more strain on Peggy’s work and social life, as well as focus more on characterization than fights and explosions…er, implosions. Being thrust into being a double agent by Howard Stark, Peggy has to fight a new war on two fronts: one against a mysterious entity only known as Leviathan and the other against her very own colleagues at the SSR. Then there’s that pesky curfew at the home front, but whatever. Peggy can roll 20s all day against the hotel’s strict as hell den mother. The episode begins with Peggy curling her hair and looking over books of symbols. Her only clue to Leviathan now is a symbol that her dead suspect left at the end of Episode 2. Her research is interrupted by a mysterious figure climbing to her window. Never one to mess around, Peggy pulls out her gun and points it at the man’s head. Turns out he’s just a hapless gentleman caller who mistook his girlfriend’s window for Peggy’s. If you may remember from the last episode, the hotel for women does not allow men after dark, and they’re never permitted anywhere above the first floor. The den mother somehow finds out about this the next morning and publicly evicts...
