~Matt Key X-Men: Days of Future Past — The Rogue Cut, is schedule to be released July 14th. We haven’t seen very much of it — actually, very little — but thanks to a Brazilian Instagram fansite, we’ve got some very telling moments that show us some of Rogue’s role. Remember in the film when Future-Wolverine pops his claws on the table and lashes out at Kitty Pryde (played by Ellen Page), hurting her? Well, apparently, they brought Rogue in to take her place, using her mutant powers of absorbing other mutant powers. You can see the sequence in...

Watch the first official trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past — The Rogue Cut

~Matt Key It’s not much to hold on to, only .25 seconds long, but Germany has given us our first official trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past — The Rogue Cut, which will add 17 minutes of new footage to the highly successful and critically acclaimed film from Fox. The only actual new footage we see is Hugh Jackman saying Rogue’s name to himself followed by Anna Paquin turning to camera dramatically, so it’s not much to get excited about, but then there’s only 17 extra minutes to show, so you don’t wanna show too much, right? This...

New Assassin’s Creed Images Show Fassbender in Past and Present

This year we will see two movies based on video game properties, Warcraft and Assassin’s Creed.  While movies based on video games aren’t unusual, both movies are attempting to break the so called “video game movie curse”.  The curse pretty much states there is no such thing as a good video game movie.  So far, the curse has been dead on Don’t get me wrong, there are video game movies that I adore, but that doesn’t mean they are good.  I’m talking about the Resident Evil movies here, I love them but they just aren’t good. Warcraft is picking up...

The X-Men Franchise Could Be Changing Dramatically at Fox Studios

Well, this is interesting. According to sources with The Hollywood Reporter, Fox Studios might be looking to completely reinvent their X-Men franchise. It’s a franchise that, since 2000, has earned the studio around $4 billion, but it now shows “signs of wear and tear”, as the site says. This is all coming in response to a couple things. First of all, X-Men: Apocalypse didn’t do as well as the studio had hoped, only bringing in $544 Million worldwide, compared to the $748 Million Days of Future Past generated. More importantly, the stars that they used to reboot this new...

Super Hero Movie Math – X-Men Edition

Super Hero Movie Math – X-Men Edition! IMHO by Chris Morris In the recent past I’ve written articles about the math behind Blockbuster films, specifically Super Hero ones from DC and Marvel. It seems a lot of people don’t understand what it actually means for a movie to be profitable. I myself don’t know all the variables but here’s at least a rudimentary attempt and figuring out “the code”. Here are the other articles if you want to get caught up: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – the Final Verdict Super Hero Movie Math – DC Films edition...
