Some are better at them than others. Cumberbatch has proven himself game for and adept at silly...

Benedict Cumberbatch to Star in Showtime Series MELROSE

Dr. Strange is hitting DVD, while Sherlock just finished series four. Never fear, Benedict Cumberbatch fans, the actor will be back on screens soon, as he continues to be one of the hardest working actors alive today. February 28th, Showtime announced the network had picked up Melrose, a series based on Edward St. Aubyn’s novels. Deadline reports the five episode series will feature Benedict Cumberbatch as a Patrick Melrose, “an aristocratic and outrageously funny playboy who struggles to overcome the damage inflicted by a horribly abusive father…”. Not only will each episode closely follow a different novel, it will “…Take place over the course...

Watch Benedict Cumberbatch Get Magically Silly in this DOCTOR STRANGE Blooper Reel

If you’re anything like me, then you love a good blooper reel. And, also, if you’re anything like me, then you love Doctor Strange. The film was great and it’s hitting home release February 28th, just in time for not Valentine’s Day. In anticipation of that release, Disney and Marvel Studios are releasing a number of behind-the-scenes videos to get us excited to bring our copy of the movie home. We’ve seen some behind the scenes featurettes showing us how they made the film and how the actors prepared, and now we get to take a look at Benedict Cumberbatch...

First Look at Benedict Cumberbatch as Thomas Edison in THE CURRENT WAR

Fresh off of his successes with Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch is going straight to the past as Thomas Edison in the upcoming The Current War.  The Weinstein Company released a first-look photo of Cumberbatch as the historical icon, as reported by Deadline today. The film is said to focus on the race between Edison and Westinghouse Electric, to create a viable electricity system for the masses in the 1880’s.  It was Edison’s direct current versus Tesla’s alternating current.  I find it fascinating that as this film is just starting to shoot scenes and go into full production, this debate...

Benedict Cumberbatch is Related to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

WHAT!?!  Could this be more perfect?  Some awesome genealogy geeks have discovered that Benedict Cumberbatch, who currently plays Sherlock Holmes on TV is related to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who CREATED SHERLOCK HOLMES!! Entertainment Weekly reports that according to Ancestry.com, the two are 16th cousins, twice removed.  I have no idea what that means… but apparently Conan Doyle and Cumberbatch share a common ancestor.  That ancestor is  ‘John of Gaunt, who was the Duke of Lancaster and a close friend of The Canterbury Tales poet Geoffrey Chaucer. John of Gaunt, born around 1340, was also the fourth son of King Edward III of England...

Benedict Cumberbatch Goes Full Pantsless in ‘SNL’ Debut

Last night, Benedict Cumberbatch finally hosted SNL, and it was, in moments, glorious.  Most notably, Cumberbatch got venerable in two separate sketches by partially disrobing. My personal favorite is his appearance in this week’s digital short, which is an homage to the 1984 Macintosh commercial that so memorably shook up the personal computer game.  In this iteration, the breaker of chains is a new Koohl Toilet.  I need not say more. I will say, Cumberbatch seems to be game to make a fool of himself, and clearly doesn’t take himself too seriously, which, to me is a mark of a...

Benedict Cumberbatch Performs ‘Mad Lib Theater’ On ‘The Tonight Show’

I’m sure you have no interest whatsoever in watching the ever-charming Benedict Cumberbatch be ever-charming on The Tonight Show.  And, since you don’t, you won’t watch the video posted below.  But, you should.  Because his appearance in Mad Lib Theater incredibly charming. Jimmy Fallon being known for silly bits and dumb games, gives us no new surprises.  But, I could watch Benedict Cumberbatch just pick words for hours.  Forget the silly bit.  The silly bit is also fun, and made me very glad that Doctor Strange doesn’t have a New York accent.   Somehow the accent gives Cumberbatch an odd speech impediment as well....

Eddie Redmayne And Benedict Cumberbatch Play With Magic On The Graham Norton Show!

For Graham Norton to have Eddie Redmayne AND Benedict Cumberbatch together on the same show was almost too much, my little geek heart could barely stand it! This was an especially adorable moment and fun for us fans to see Redmayne geek out about magic. He truly loves magic and has been doing it since he was a little kid. Eddie asked fellow guests, Bryan Cranston and Cumberbatch to help him out with a trick, and even brought his own wand, which is very fitting since he is out promoting ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them’ which is out...

Benedict Cumberbatch Hints at the End of ‘Sherlock’

What is going on!?!  It seems that every show I love is coming to an end.  I’ve posted on the end of THREE excellent shows just this week!  So, could it be that Sherlock will follow in step?  Ugh.  Come on. According to Deadline, during a GQ UK interview, Benedict Cumberbatch said of Season 4… “It might be the end of an era… It feels like the end of an era, to be honest. It goes to a place where it will be pretty hard to follow on immediately. We never say never on the show. I’d love to revisit it, I’d...

Benedict Cumberbatch Joins David Gilmour Onstage for Pink Floyd’s ‘Comfortably Numb’!

So, I’m trying to go to bed right now. I’m going through my usual checklist of inane activities I subject to myself to before I slumber. -I checked my email – junk mail. -I read the news – crappy election coverage. -I checked my social media – Hey! Why aren’t you guys tweeting me? And then, I checked Reddit and instead of going down the Reddit hole that would keep up until three in the morning, I found this piece of awesome. David Gilmour posted to his YouTube page his London performance of Comfortably Numb – my favorite Floyd...
